Proficiency Level Analysis

Analyze the proficiency levels of the students in Ms. Jensen’s class to place them into appropriate groups.

In a 250 word essay describe how you would group these students (heterogeneously or homogeneously) for one in-class English language arts activities. Choose one area of language; listening, speaking, reading, or writing; for the purpose of your grouping. The essay should include a rationale of placement, citing at least one source from your research (i.e. NOT course materials) to support the placement. (Please keep in mind your focus is not on defending heterogeneous or homogeneous groups. Your focus on Mrs. Jensen’s class is whether you would use heterogeneous and/or homogeneous groups, how you would utilize it and why. Select and describe only 1 method in your paper.) The essay should include a rationale of placement, citing at least one source from your research to support the placement.
