Complete 6 page APA formatted essay: Michael Ondaatje’s Book Anils Ghost.

Assimilation and aggression, depending on the society given as an example, do not necessarily have to be in conflict. If the example is the Sri Lanka society in Anil’s Ghost, the answer would be yes and no. If assimilation meant abiding by the governmental rules, then Anil’s aggressive search for Sailor’s identity would be in conflict with the assimilation. All of the Sri Lankan citizens that fought for change would be in conflict of assimilation. On the other hand, all of the soldiers and government officials killing, stealing, and otherwise acting aggressively, would not be in conflict with assimilation. It depends on how aggression is displayed in what society whether or not assimilation is in conflict with aggression.

European office doors meant nothing when there was the crisis. If and when you were asked by the government to leave, you left. You took nothing with you. Not a slide tray, not a piece of film. (Ondaatje 29)

The methods of Anil, Sarath, and Palipana, even though tall were anthropologists, differed drastically. Anil’s technique was more modern and Western, whereas Sarath and Palipana’s methods were more old-fashioned and Eastern. An example would be when they were determining the age of Sailor. Sarath examined Sailor with the following findings:

I photographed the skeleton with and without the head for a record. Meanwhile, we’ll continue to examine this skeleton—its soil traces, palynology. The brinjals are very good….Sir, you and I work on ancient rocks, fossils, rebuild dried-up water gardens, concern ourselves with why an army moved into the dry zone. We can identify an architect by his habit of building in the winter and summer palaces. But Anil lives in contemporary times. She uses contemporary methods. She can cut a cross-section of a bone with a fine saw and determine the skeleton’s exact age at death that way.

topic :Analyze one of the minor characters, such as Petrus. Example: Analyze not only the chosen characters’ personality but also what role they played in advancing the overall theme of the novel

Criteria:

In addition to being written at college-level, your essay must meet the following criteria.

  • Include an introduction with a clear thesis statement, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
  • Use at least three quotes from the book.
  • When citing your sources, use MLA style for literary essays. It is helpful to keep your handbook open to the MLA tab as you write.
  • Minimum 850 words (more complex topics might require more)
  • Language: This is a composition class — your writing and grammar count.
  • Use specific supporting details from the book and at least two from outside sources.

Required Procedures:

  • Read Disgrace by J. M. Coetzee in its entirety before beginning your paper. Take notes as you read. Mark some interesting passages and save necessary source information (such as page numbers) for your in-text documentation and your Works Cited list.
  • Think about the topic and approach you chose located in the Topics and Approaches page. Do not simply repeat or summarize the story.
    • Write your well-constructed thesis, topic sentences, supporting details roughly before beginning.
  • Do some research. It’s important to know a bit about apartheid and post-apartheid South Africa before you begin the paper. Take notes and save necessary source information for your Works Cited list.
    • Use at least two outside sources from scholarly sites or journals.
    • Look at sample papers to refresh your memory concerning the format in Rules for Writers, 8th edition.
    • Write a minimum 850-word (or more if necessary) for a good literary essay.
    • Use formal language and the third person, avoiding personal anecdotes and eliminating all references to yourself at all (I believe, in my opinion, etc).

Compose a 1750 words assignment on the global car industry facing the challenge. Needs to be plagiarism free! In developing countries, governments are seen to strongly favor the development of the car industry as it generates revenue through taxes and employment. China and India’s political sectors are seen to expand their infrastructure in order to support industrialization and the higher demand for durables such as cars. However, in industrialized economies with the population having larger purchasing powers, governments are more concerned with the pressing issues of sustainable development and environmental preservation.

Economic: The difference in the economic situation of various nations will be having different effects on the markets of the global car industry. The United States is forecasted to outpace the Euro Zone in terms of economic growth while the whole of Asia Pacific will be experiencing robust growth except for Japan. In general, it should be noted that “growth and wage levels are expected to be slower in the real terms in the immediate future.” This, in turn, can lead to low consumer confidence which is expected to suppress demand for new cars while encouraging the retention of old ones or turning to the second-hand market. This bleak outlook is even coupled with the fact that most countries are employing tighter policy measures that squeeze the consumers’ disposable income through higher taxation schemes.

Social: One of the social factors which have a high impact on car demand and purchases is the level of nationalism. It is irrefutable that customers have a higher preference for purchasing products manufactured in their own country. However, this level of nationalism is expected to be eroded by the subsequent increase in education, travel, and integration.

Technological: Technological developments have greatly contributed to the improvements in the process, design, and efficiency of car manufacturers. It is expected that technological innovations in the global auto industry will focus on reducing environmental hazards and pollution caused by emissions.&nbsp.
