Consider a two-period model of small open economy with endowment (i.e. without production). We assume that the world interest rate is fixed at zero, (r ∗ = 0). A representative household’s preferences are given by u(C1) + Eu(C2) where E denotes expected value. They maximize the expected lifetime utility subject to the period budget constraints. They receive endowments in the first period (Q). Households endowments in the second period is stochastic. That is, Q2 = Q + σ with probability 0.5 and Q2 = Q − σ with probability 0.5. They inherited zero wealth, thus B0 = 0. They optimally decide how much to consume in the first period (C1) and second period (C2) as well as bond holdings (B1) in the first period, which pays the interest rate r ∗ = 0. We assume the transversality condition holds so that B2 = 0.

a) Assuming u(C1) + Eu(C2) = ln C1 + E ln C2, derive the first-order condition with respect to C1. Provide a brief interpretation of the condition.

b) Assuming u(C1) + Eu(C2) = ln C1 + E ln C2, state and interpret the relationship between σ and consumption in period 1. What will also be the result of uncertainty on the trade balance and on the current account in period 1?

Hi Iam trying to write good cover letter so I need civil engineering tutor to help me with that and when you write it consider that you are a senior civil engineering student

this is the job description: Field Engineer – Entry level

Diaz Construction has one (possibly two) openings for a Field Engineer working in the Boston area.

We are interested in a field engineer to perform layout and an office engineer that can assist in project management. We are a foundation/site development construction company. A field engineer that can speak either Portuguese or Spanish would be a plus. Actively seeking recent graduate who is ready to enter the workforce.

And this is example and former about how exactly I want it i want to use this business letter example below :

The Block Form

Ah, business letter format-there are block formats, and indented formats, and modified block formats . . . and who knows what others. To simplify matters, we’re demonstrating the block format on this page, one of the two most common formats. For authoritative advice about all the variations, we highly recommend The Gregg Reference Manual, 9th ed. (New York: McGraw-Hill, 2001), a great reference tool for workplace communications. There seems to be no consensus about such fine points as whether to skip a line after your return address and before the date: some guidelines suggest that you do; others do not. Let’s hope that your business letter succeeds no matter which choice you make!

When you use the block form to write a business letter, all the information is typed flush left, with one-inch margins all around. First provide your own address, then skip a line and provide the date, then skip one more line and provide the inside address of the party to whom the letter is addressed. If you are using letterhead that already provides your address, do not retype that information; just begin with the date. For formal letters, avoid abbreviations where possible.

Skip another line before the salutation, which should be followed by a colon. Then write the body of your letter as illustrated here, with no indentation at the beginnings of paragraphs. Skip lines between paragraphs.

After writing the body of the letter, type the closing, followed by a comma, leave 3 blank lines, then type your name and title (if applicable), all flush left. Sign the letter in the blank space above your typed name. Now doesn’t that look professional?

Sincerely,

I will pay for the following essay PERSON CENTER COUNSELING. The essay is to be 3 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page.

The counselor should not be judgmental, but accept the client the way she is and work with her in identifying solution to her problem. However, during the therapeutic process, the counselor should take a non-directive role. In addition, empathizing with the client would help her to reflecting feelings and meanings of her world view. On the other hand, congruence on part of the counselor acts as an encouragement to the client to open up more to her problem and brainstorm on how to solve the prevail situation (Cooper & McLeod, 2011).

This theory is intended for quick-fix psychotherapy because the counselor does not take a direct role in the process and it is upon the client to come up with the best alternative intervention for the problem situation (Cooper & McLeod, 2011).

The counselor’s task is to be an active listener and help the client through the process of reflecting feeling and meanings of the problems she is undergoing. This helps the client to identify incongruence in her statements and probably explore ways of dealing with such conflicting statements. Further, the counselor can also encourage the client to open more as a way of exploring the problem situation and ensuring the client move in the right direction in terms of identifying where the problem situation is emanating (Joseph & Murphy, 2013).

The client’s task or responsibility is to search for inner resources that can help her move from the current state to a state of personal growth and development. This involves brainstorming on how to deal with the identifying stressors that can be solved through behavior modification, for instance (Joseph & Murphy, 2013).

The client is also preoccupied with self-defeating thoughts thus unable to deal with the prevailing situation. For instance, she feels hopeless because of losing her job and this leads to other

The Boyd Bottling Company is contemplating the replacement of one of its bottling machines with a newer and more efficient one. The old machine was originally purchased three years ago for $1,372,000 and has been depreciated using the MACRS schedule for a 7-years class asset and it has 5 years of useful life remaining. The firm does not expect to realize any return from scrapping the old machine in 5 years, but it can sell it now to another firm in the industry for $265,000.The new machine has a purchase price of $1,175,000, an estimated useful life and MACRS class life of 5 years, and an estimated market (salvage) value of $145,000 at the end of 5 years. It is expected to economize on electric power usage, labor, and repair costs, which will save Boyd $230,000 each year. In addition, it is expected the new machine will reduce the number of defective bottles, which will save an additional $25,000 annually. The company’s tax rate is 40 percent and it has a 12 percent required rate of return.a.Calculate the Depreciation Schedules for both pieces of equipment and calculate the incremental change in depreciation expense.b.What is the initial investment at t=0?c.Since the project has an economic life of only 5 years, calculate the incremental operating cash flows for years 1-5.d.What is the terminal value at the end of year 5?i.Calculate the payback period and decide whether to accept or reject.ii.Calculate the net present value and decide whether to accept or reject.ii.Calculate the internal rate of return and decide whether to accept or reject.iii.Calculate the profitability index and decide whether to accept or reject.iv.Calculate the modified internal rate of return and decide whether to accept or reject.
