Principle 2: Interpersonal communication is irreversible, this principle I find to be very important and truer than the others. If something is said by you or someone else, it is not possible to take back and the more and more you say the deeper you can get yourself into a situation. My example is that I get heated easy about certain things once I get to my boiling point I can let my anger out in word form and at times say things that I do not necessarily mean at the time. I then am unable to take those things back I can apologize about these things I said but can not and will not be able to take it back or make it up to that person I use those specific words towards.

Principle 6: Interpersonal communication develops and sustains relationships

This principle I find to be one of the most interesting with communication is they way we build on relationships whether the relationships be friend, romantic, networking or career type relationships. I use this principle to develop and maintain my friendships I have with close friends. I have a few friends that live out of state and I talk to them on the phone all the time to keep them updated with what is going on with me. They contact me to keep me updated with what is going on with them and what is going on it their lives. This is my example of how I use interpersonal communication to develop and sustain relationships in my life.

Principle 5: Metacommunication affects meaning, according to J.T. Wood, “known as communication about communication” (Wood, 2016) Although this is not a form of communication I have an example I wanted to add it to my discussion as I feel it is an important principle out of the eight.
