In 1736, a famous Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707 – 1783) started the work in the area of Graph Theory through his successful attempt in solving the problem of “Seven Bridges of Konigsberg.” Graph Theory solved many problems in multiple fields (Chinese Postman Problem, DNA fragment assembly, and aircraft scheduling.) In Chemistry, Graph Theory is used in the study of molecules, construction of bonds in chemistry, and the study of atoms. In Biology, Graph Theory is used in the study of breeding patterns or tracking the spread of disease.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

  1. Choose two (2) applications for graph theory within your area of specialization (Networking, Security, Databases, Data Mining, Programming, etc.).
  2. Examine how these applications are being used in your specialization.
  3. Determine how graph theory has advanced the knowledge in your area of specialization.
  4. Conclude how you will apply graph theory in your area of specialization.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

DEVELOPING INTIMACY WITH YOUR DATA

SUBJECT: Police Killings

This exercise involves you working with an already acquired dataset to undertake the remaining three key steps of examining, transforming and exploring your data to develop a deep familiarisation with its properties and qualities. This spreadsheet provides you with two contrasting worksheets showing snapshot details of recorded deaths caused by US law enforcement agencies, from The Guardian (“The Counted“) and the Washington Post (“Fatal Force“). For each dataset:

Examination: Articulate the meaning of the data (its representativeness and phenomenon) and thoroughly examine the physical properties (type, size, condition) noting down your descriptions in each case. Compare what the two datasets offer and contrast their differences.

Transformation: What could you do/would you need to do to clean or modify the existing data? What other data could you imagine would be valuable to consolidate the existing data?

Exploration: Use a tool of your choice (common recommendations would be Excel, Tableau, R) to visually explore the two datasets separately in order to deepen your appreciation of their physical properties and their discoverable qualities (insights) to help you cement your understanding of their respective value.

Compose a 250 words essay on The style of language in Changez. Needs to be plagiarism free!

Changez is deeply embroiled in thought and reflection on himself and his world here while on his way home. Initially, he feels saddened and shamed when he arrives home to find the place in shambles and in a squalid state. Later, he appreciates the grandeur of the place with its rich history because it is where his loved ones reside. Even so, he feels depressed on his way back, when he realizes that “college students and young professionals” are leaving the country, and robbing the society of the necessary expertise and manpower to help the country. The use of direct speech is prevalent throughout his reflection on his homecoming. The author presents readers with a direct account of Changez conversations with his brother, mother, and father. “There is an artillery battery dug in at the country house of a friend of mine, half an hour from here, and a colonel billeted in his spare bedroom,” he replied, “so things are not good” (Hamid, 2007). His brother responds to his query about the situation at home. Through direct speech, the reader experiences the actual feeling of the conditions at home from a third party who has an impartial viewpoint. The style of language is impeccable and augurs well with the author’s intended message. The author uses the word ‘Americanness’ to indicate the nature of American behavior, or something associated with Americans. “I recall the Americanness of my own gaze…” (Hamid, 2007).
