Discussion: Trauma

Trauma is ubiquitous. While trauma is most commonly associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, trauma can manifest in a myriad of different ways and not every client who experiences trauma will be diagnosed with PTSD. Social workers intervene directly with trauma when working in Veteran’s services, domestic violence/sexual assault response programs, and child protective services. Social workers also work with trauma indirectly when working in mental health, substance abuse services, schools, refugee resettlement, and other forms of social service. Whether or not you are directly treating a traumatic episode as the presenting problem, trauma will be present in the clinical space.

In this Week’s Discussion, you will demonstrate your skills related to explaining trauma and intervention to a client. This will require you explain the concepts in a manner that is understandable to the developmental and educational level of the client. No need to solicit a volunteer to assist you. Position yourself as though the client is directly behind the camera lens. The goal is to show, not tell. In other words, you are expected to demonstrate rather than discuss your skills. You should role-play as if you were speaking directly to a client.

Create a role play

In the role-play:

  • Ask one question that you would use to elicit information about a client’s trauma experience. [Assume a response and move to the next part of the skill demonstration]
  • Explain to the client the effects of trauma generally and how trauma may be affecting the client specifically.
  • Explain to the client what intervention(s) you would recommend and why.
  • Explain the role you would take in any intervention given your scope of practice and to whom you would refer the client for additional intervention.

The main emphasis should be made on informative strategies promoting alternative sources of energy, practical implementation of key solutions in this field.

Argument: What is the optimal decision made by the oil producing countries and what possible solutions can be made? What alternative solutions can be developed in line with the political and economic contexts of the countries considered? It is possible to claim that renewable sources of energy can be diversified and deploying renewable energy options can be justified around the world. Moreover, it should be mentioned that the world is subjected to a wide range of environmental factors, which ensure energy security and economic stability. It is not a kind of exaggeration if we suggest that currently the world is transitioning from a hydrocarbon-based economy to one based on sustainable forms of energy.

There has been a limited interest in examining the perspective of renewable forms of energy in major oil-producing countries. The countries, which are heavily dependent on oil producing, should be the main focus for future secure of their energy and a potential economically successful future. A key role of renewable energies can be considered in terms of oil-dependent economies.

The main attention of the modern researchers and scientists has been paid to the reduction of energy producing impact. Less attention has been paid to a healthier future of generations, which will have an opportunity to develop energy sources (Deal, 2010). It is an instructive case to consider different options in the field of renewable energy and take into account the principal oil superpower (Hurd, 2009. Rowland, Chambers, Holzer, Moore, 2009). A special attention should be paid to the nations, which are highly urbanized, but, at the same time, are dependent on development of reasonable sources of alternative energy producing. In spite of the fact that there have been

Complete 2 page APA formatted essay: Who Wins and Who loses From Public Debt.

e of the case of United States where public debt amounted to $15.5 trillion much of which has been used to “finance wars and wasteful conspicuous consumption” (Al-Jazeera, 2011). The stimulus package of President Obama which was meant to pump prime the US economy, which in principle been good, did not worked and only contributed further to the US mounting debt. As a result, Standard and Poor downgraded the credit rating of the United States from AAA credit rating, to AA+ (Bloomberg, 2011). This manifested U.S. government’s inability to cut spending and put its fiscal management in order. In addition, the intramurals of US government officials on how to deal with its public debt also contributed to the downgrading of its credit rating. In this regard, it is the general American public who lost as a result of its public debt which was shabbily managed by its politicians.

The amount of debt that the US economy incurred is staggering. In 2012, it is expected to reached $12.7 trillion (usgovernmentspending.com, 2012) without any end in sight. Ideally, the growth or surplus of an economy should exceed the amount of interest of the public debt for the given economy to repay its debt. US is already way passed this point “where it could service its debt without going deeper into debt, let alone repay it” (Al Jazeera, 2011). According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), spending in 2001 to 2009 increased by 6.5 percent of GDP while revenue decreased by 4.7 percent of GDP resulting in a substantial deficit that has to be filled with further spending through debt that resulting to the current astronomical deb. In 2011, GDP was expected to rise by $100 billion with a revenue of $2.16 trillion but spending amounted to $3.45 trillion that resulted to $1.5 trillion that is again to be borrowed compounding the insurmountable debt that the US already have

Given the rate of spending compared to realized revenue, it is very clear that the general public
