How do you become a competent, professional consultant who is able to effectively address concerns in a changing organization? What are the skills necessary to implement organizational change? In your role as an OD consultant, it is essential to improve your competencies to become more effective as an individual and as a member of a team. To assist with this process, you complete Journal Assignments in this course that require you to reflect on your experiences and personal and professional skills, as well as their potential impact on your future practice as an OD consultant. In this week’s Journal Assignment, you consider personal behaviors, attitudes, or characteristics that could be strengthened to help you become a more effective OD professional.

To prepare:

  • Review your completed OD Skills Simulation 2.1 document.
  • Reflect on the information you gained about your practitioner style from filling out each section.

Post by Day 7 a Journal entry that includes a brief description of a personal behavior, attitude, or characteristic that you could change or strengthen in order to become a more effective OD professional. Reference the material you reviewed in the OD Skills Simulation 2.1 in your Journal entry.

How would you reply to your peer from the dialogue post below?

To be a successful I think all five traits listed in the text will help achieve that goal. Cognitive ability is a very important trait to have for being effective in management since creativity is used often. Leaders must learn to work with the staff individually and, everyone has a unique way of thinking when it comes to completing work. Finding new ways to keep work interesting and fun is not always easy, but it will help with keeping a positive morale within the work place. Sometimes impulse decision making will occur, and the manager must be cognitive to ensure the decision will have a positive effect. The next trait for being an effective leader is personality. Leaders need to have a positive mix of different personalities due to the heavy amount of responsibilities that are carried out daily. Being able to be modest and not arrogant towards the staff is able to gain trust, respect, a build a strong relationship. “Righteous lips are the delight of a King, and he loves him who speaks what is right” (Proverbs 16:13). If a leader is not motivated to focus and finish the responsibilities, then the staff will not be motivated. When a leader is motivated, they are learning, growing, and improving. Proverbs 16:16 says “How much better to get wisdom than gold. To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” Social appraisal also goes with being a peacemaker. Recognizing the feelings and behaviors of others and responding positive is a very important trait. The last trait and the most important trait is problem solving. Not only does the leader identify the situation, they also learn from it and apply what has been learned for future reference. “The intelligent man is always open to ideas, in fact, he looks for them” (Proverbs 18:15).

The Literature of Africa Unit Test

Examine how white people and black people regard each other in “No Witchcraft for Sale,The Moment Before the Gun Went Off,” and “The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses.” How do they help to both teach and support each other, and how do they fail? Think about what each group is trying to protect and when it withholds something from the other.

A theme that runs through the poems in this unit (6) is that a sense of pride is important to a sense of self-worth. What do you think is the connection between this theme and Africa’s history of colonial rule? Support your view with details from at least two of the selections you have read.

I am very confused and would like to see it reworded or an example if possible.
