Article Review

Objective

Article reviews are purposed to help you learn how to research scholarly information, write in the APA style, and broaden your knowledge base of course subjects that help you succeed in the business world.

Project Criteria

There are two (2) Article Review assignments. Scoring depends on linking the subject to course concepts, life-examples, completeness of assignment, professionalism, and grammar.

You must post a copy of your scholarly article (not just the link) in the same drop box as your written article review.

Your articles may not come from a generalized Google search, magazine, trade journals, newspaper articles, or blog source. You must use either the Sullivan Library online resources or Google Scholar to research academic or scholarly peer reviewed articles. If the article does not have a list of resources at the end of the article, then it likely is not peer reviewed or from a professional journal. If you have questions about whether your resources meet the requirments, please ask before you submit your article review. If you need research help, please contact the library. Failure to use a peer-reviewed journal article results in a zero. If you have found a resource you would like to use and are unsure if it qualifies, please ask before posting your submission. If you need research help, see the library research guide or contact the library. please make sure it is your own work.

Process

Synthesize the research material and link it to the course content using the following guidelines.

  • Summarize the article (don’t just copy it into your paper).
  • Offer your insights into the article. This should include new learnings, what you agree or disagree with and “ah-ha” moments, etc.
  • The best article reviews also tie the article to the materials we have learned in class. Focus equal attention on each of the two sections (summary and insights).
  • Discuss the relevancy of your new material to the course material and conflict coaching methodologies.

This is to be a three-to-five page, r (750 – 1250 words). I am looking for substance and linkage to the course concepts, not personal opinion or filler rhetoric. Do not merely provide a series of direct quotes…synthesize the material using your own words so other students can gain from your work. Be explicit enough that I can tell you have mastered the concept or material in the article you reviewed.

Need an argumentative essay on RESEARCH PROPOSAL: AN ASSESSMENT OF PERCEPTIONS ON WATER AND SANITATION SERVICES IN DURBAN METRO: CASE STUDY-KWAMASHU. Needs to be 10 pages. Please no plagiarism.

They include the municipality, the private sector, partnerships between agencies, community capital and community empowerment etc. The essential role of donor agencies like the World Bank, who have Africa’s development on their agenda, and how they can make a difference with their aid for the cause of the urban poor is studied.

INTRODUCTION: In the developing world, more than a billion people lack safe drinking water, and more than three billion live without access to adequate sanitation systems necessary for reducing exposure to water-related diseases, according to Gleick (1998: 487, Water Policy). The failure of the international aid community, nations and local organizations to satisfy these basic human needs has led to substantial, unnecessary and preventable human suffering. New approaches to long-term water planning and management that incorporate principles of sustainability and equity are required, since the problems of ecological and human crises are likely to increase with growth in human population (p.571).

Holistic environmental sanitation, according to Downs. Suffet (2002:3) has four main water-related aspects: water supply, rainwater drainage, solid waste disposal and excreta disposal. Sanitation, including water supply is a major part of the United Nation’s Agenda for sustainable development. New integrated solutions are called for to meet the challenges.

My research proposal addresses perceptions of issues related to water and sanitation services in KwaMashu, a Durban metro. The main aim of the research would be to study the trends in water and sanitation services around the globe, in Africa, and particularly in South Africa, Durban and in KwaMashu. An assessment of current conditions, the financial aid plans of donor agencies, other institutional resources, partnerships between different agencies for sustainability and equity, identifying and empowering of

I’m working on the “home heaters, a holistic view of financial statements” case (I’m sure you’ve heard of it…)

I’m having difficulty on figuring out the interest questions, ex:

A) On January 2, each company borrowed $400,00- on a 20 year, 7% note payable, interest plus 20,000 principle due in September 30, each year.

B)On September 30, the first 20,000 principal payment plus nine month’s interest was made on the NP from A)

C)Management made an adjusting entry to accuse three months interest on the NP in A and B.

Can you help me with with the journal entries/amounts would be? I’m a little unsure of the rates/simple/compound/etc.

Also if a “company” is started with issuing 3,200 shares of capital stock for 160,000 and then later pays dividends of $7.25 per share, will I have 4 entries: DB – Retained earnings and Dividends payable and CR to Dividends Payable and Cash? (date it is announced vs. date paid)

I’d appreciate any help you could give! (I’ve attached the questions if you need any more detail).

Task 1: Draw the marginal cost curve and the average total cost curve of a wet milling ethanol plant. Assume that the overhead cost is not recoverable if the plant shuts down temporarily.

Task 2: Draw the marginal cost curve and the average total cost curve of a dry milling ethanol plant.

Task 3: ADM’s Peoria plant is a wet-milling plant. Suppose the price of ethanol were $1.02 per gallon. Would ADM wish to temporarily suspend operations (shut down) at the Peoria plant? What is the minimum ethanol price at which operating the Peoria plant is optimal for ADM?

Task 4: Draw the current short-run industry supply curve for ethanol.

Task 5: Verify that the current equilibrium price of $1.53 is consistent with the short- run supply curve you derived above, combined with the demand function ! = 46.1 − 20!, where Q is billions of gallons per year.

Task 6: Suppose the demand for ethanol changes to ! = 23.05 − 10!. What do you predict will be the new price in the short run? How much ethanol will be produced in the new short-run equilibrium? How much will be produced by dry-milling plants? Wet-milling plants?

1 Actual plant capacities and costs vary more than is shown here.

2. AbbVie Pharmaceuticals (headquartered in Lake Forest, IL) has commenced a $10 million R&D project to develop a new drug to treat a rare disease. So far, it has spent $6 million of the $10 million, and preliminary results are positive. If the additional $4 million is invested, the drug will certainly be completed and is expected to generate profit of $18 million in present value for AbbVie. Meanwhile, a research biologist at Illinois Tech has independently developed a treatment for the same disease. The scientist has offered to sell her invention to AbbVie for $2 million. Her drug would be just as effective as AbbVie’s drug, and would also generate profit of $18 million in present value.

  1. Should AbbVie buy the drug for $2 million?
  2. What is the most AbbVie should be willing to pay for the Illinois Tech
  3. researcher’s drug?
  4. How would your answer change if the Illinois Tech biologist had developed her
  5. drug two years ago, before AbbVie started its own R&D project?

d. Suppose that Merck has also expressed interest in the biologist’s invention. If Merck buys the drug, there is a 50% chance that it will beat AbbVie’s drug to mar
