Applied research in the communities that health organizations serve should be a collaborative process that engages and partners with the community early in the process. Community based participatory research (CBPR) is a research model that involves community stakeholders as partners from the beginning for setting research agendas, planning, and implementation. CBPR also should be culturally appropriate and sensitive to community norms, aspirations, and expectations.

Post a brief description of the intervention (HIV/AIDS). In your post, (USE SUBHEADINGS) to answer questions 1) explain whether the intervention as described was effective in terms of cultural appropriateness and relevance to the population.2) Explain culturally appropriate community based participatory research (CBPR) strategies you might use to make the intervention more culturally appropriate and explain why you chose these strategies.
