1.     If you were to going to be a Religious Studies major, what religious studies approach/method (i.e., anthropological, sociological, textual, psychological, etc.) would you choose to understand religions and why? Be sure to identify major theories or theorists to help explain what this method is and why it is useful. You can use any theoretical approach and/or specific theorist mentioned in Herling or Bielo. Identify the particular dimensions or elements of religion (cognitive, ritual, aesthetic, etc.) that this method would allow you to investigate, and explain how/why the method would help you learn more about that particular dimension of religion. In retrospect, what observations (texts, practices, artifacts, etc.) from any of your site visits could this method help you interpret more fully? Explain.
