I need help with a response to this post…….

I would say America’s involvement in the Vietnamese War (conflict) divided the nation because some saw this as a fight that was not ours. The war costed people their lives and a ton of money on the United States end. Kennedy and Johnson thought that things would have a domino effect and the US would be next as far as communist taking over if they did not get involved and help out. The antiwar movement both brought people together and also hurt some of those who protested. I think the antiwar movement was a cry from the American people that this was not our fight and we were tired of seeing our loved ones have to leave or even die. In response to the war, families did not support the war. They went on about life as if there wasn’t anything going on.
