1. Measuring Point and Area Sources: Find both a point source and an area source and conduct some measurements with your sound level meter to demonstrate the NR of each. Use distances that make sense for your source—e.g. short distances for a loudspeaker and much longer distances for a roadway.

2. Low Frequency Prevalence: In cities that have outdoor rock/pop music venues, people several kilometers away often complain about hearing a low-frequency thumping sound (we know this as the kick drum) during events. Why do you think that only these very low frequencies can be heard so far away? Consider that NR is not dependent on frequency, so something else is going on.
