A country is considered as a developed nation only when there is a steady growth rate in all the verticals, equal opportunity for people across every parts of the society, the literacy rate is on the higher side and continuously increasing and most importantly the percentage of people above the poverty line is increasing year after year. Different nations are adopting different kinds of strategies based on their own geographical, social and political situation to meet the high standard. In this paper the main focusing on India. The paper is divided into two parts. In the first part the focus is on the economic and social condition of the country, how the growth rate is over last 5 to 10 years in various aspects and how the country is taking decision to meet its financial objective. In the second part the focus is on one particular aspects of development ad that is literacy. Here the discussion is on the state of literacy in India, the strategies adopted by the government to improve the rate of literacy and what are the outcomes of that strategy.

The rate of inflation in the country is also under control. The expenditure in terms of some important parameters like education, health, decreasing the child mortality etc.is also a key part in steady growth of the nation.
