J.W. Gardner was quoted as saying “The judgment one makes of a leader must be multidimensional, taking into consideration great strength, streaks of mediocrity, and perhaps great flaws. If the great strength corresponds to the need of a critical moment in history, the flaws are forgiven and simply provide texture to the biographies”… Please discuss the following:

  • How does Gardner’s statement relate to Zenger and Folkman’s theories regarding leaders developing 3-5 key leadership strengths and not focusing on improving their weaknesses unless they are critical to their current or future position or one of the “Fatal Flaws”.
