Successful communications are key ingredients for effective organizational change management. Inexperienced managers sometimes confuse telling with communicating and hearing with listening. Then, when a problem arises, they blame everyone else, but themselves.

As a manager and leader of your own organization, discuss how you would establish a conducive communication climate. What are some of the communication channels would you use to improve the chances to implement your recommendations towards an organizational change?

Part 3

The business literature contains countless examples of organizations that managed change appropriately to remain relevant and others that did not. Pick two companies (completely your choice), locate a case study on each and use the case studies to compare and contrast why one company was successful and another was not.

Your paper should provide a brief overview of each of the companies you selected, why you selected them and where the case studies came from (i.e. Sage, HBR, etc). Next, compare and contrast each company from a change management perspective. What did they do well and what did they struggle with? What led to the success of one company and the failure of another? Lastly, conclude with the lessons you learned from each case study that you can take with you to your own profession.
