Complete 4 page APA formatted essay: The Common Perception of Juvenile Offenders.

The Certain reason for it cannot be distinguished strictly. Presumably such behavior is encouraged with the stereotypes, common for police and jurors and is rooted in the past where the slavery and beliefs of blacks being not as clever as whites and much more aggressive were wide-spread. Mass-media is also likely to influence such point of view, describing the evil nature of Black juvenile offenders and the misguided yet still innocent nature of White juvenile offenders». Thus shooting at school committed by a white adolescent would most likely be described as shocking, while same act committed by a black one – as expectable. There are no special explorations of for reasons of juvenile legal discrimination, but similar tests were conducted with adults and resulted in the theory of similarity-leniency, where people tend to show more empathy with ones whom they consider alike to their person. That was not the first experiment of a kind, still it was the first one conducted in order to prove the existence of racial prejudice directed onto coloured juveniles. The confinement of African American juveniles throughout the United States is abnormal. The rate of juvenile confinements for several years has decreased, and thus the predominance of arrests of coloured juveniles has become even more obvious. According to researches, coloured youth commits more crimes and is arrested twice as often as white juveniles.

Still, the other reason for such misbalance was also caused by the difference in attitude to black or latin juveniles in comparison to white ones. It is bound not only with the biased attitude but also with the difference in the life circumstances of juveniles that result in stricter sentences. For example under the law of Minnesota, a punishment for trying crack cocaine is four years of confinement, while trying powdered cocaine leads only to probation period.

Need an argumentative essay on Focus on Happiness. Needs to be 8 pages. Please no plagiarism.

These may include a person’s genetics composition as well as other intentional activities. Life events which are normally thought to have a lasting effect on happiness have sometimes been found to have a negligible effect (Layard, 2011). These may include job loss or marriage failure. These and other day to day life events have just a negligible effect on the happiness of an individual. There are circumstances that are greatly believed to have a lasting effect on the state of happiness. Economical life circumstances, for example, are some of these. While others argue that happiness is a state of mind, there are those who strongly believe that it is motivated and affected by life vents and the prevailing economical and health conditions. Circumstances generally count for less effect than other factors known to affect happiness. This is because almost half of happiness is accounted for by genetics while intentional activities contribute for about 40%. The intentional activities include the way an individual responds to the world as well as the way they act and think about things (Ricard, 2003). While someone can change their intentional activities in an effort to be happy, genetics cannot be changed in any way. This is according to Chall (1953). Some other circumstances can also have significant effect on happiness.

Write 2 page essay on the topic The contractual doctrine of illegality through public policy places far too much discretion into the hands of the judiciary to allow a contract to be struck out simply based upon the personal preference of the individual judge To what extent do you.

The courts have been very rigid throughout history when it comes to the public policy. The rule is that ignorantia juris non excusat (ignorance of the law is no excuse). Therefore, the courts simply reject any arguments that any of the parties did not know the relevant law and they broke it unintentionally.

The strictness has been sometimes observed as being responsible for the making of potentially abrupt decisions. As a principle, the decisions of the courts must be impartial and objectivity must be given the utmost importance. The fact that the individual preferences of judges have a great impact on judgments of singular cases, the contracts that are allegedly against public policy are often adjudicated too hastily.

I think that if the involvement of personal preferences of the judiciary is inevitable, the decisions must be made fairly. The courts are the epitome of achievement of justice through objective and neutral analysis. There is a certain possibility that individual preferences may prevail over all other principles and ethics because the judiciary is made up of human beings. Human errors may lead to faulty and unfair decisions and that should not be considered as the failure of law. The judiciary, however, should not be influenced by the individual preferences because this would tend to be at the cost of neutrality and if neutrality is given up then the general public might lose its faith in the courts.

If that is indeed a fact that the individual preferences of judges are involved then it is very important that what influences those preferences. As a judge, a decision must be reached at after careful and objective examination of circumstances. Each and every observation must be free from bias. If a decision is reached after following the principles of objectivity and neutrality, it is deemed to be a fair decision.

In the case of contracts made against public policy, the same
