1.             Jane and Bob had been running a boat-building business through a company “National Boat Builders Pty Ltd” for over 25 years. Both Bob and Jane were directors and shareholders with Bob holding 76 of the 100 issued ordinary shares and Jane holding the remaining 24 issued shares. Last year Bob died, leaving his shares to his son Michael.

Michael is not a ‘hands on’ manager like his father and Jane is concerned that the business is rapidly deteriorating through Michael’s neglect. Jane also suspects that the company is paying Michael a large management fee which the company can’t sustain. Jane can’t verify either of these concerns as Michael refuses to give her access to the company books.

Michael has indicated to Jane that he has negotiated the sale of the boat building business of the company to another company.  Michael is the majority shareholder of the proposed purchaser. National Boat Builders will then switch its focus to aircraft detailing (a hobby of Michael’s, but an activity in which the company has never been involved).

He says a resolution ratifying the sale and approving a modification of the objects set out in the company’s constitution to record the proposed change in business activity has been passed. Jane did not receive any notice of any meeting of members being held. Jane does not agree with either of the proposed changes.

Hi, I need help with essay on Walmart Foreign Expansion Case Study. Paper must be at least 1000 words. Please, no plagiarized work!

The company adapted practices to fit the nature of Mexico market before transforming the market culture of American practices. However, the company has been criticized for bribery cases in the establishment of outlets in Mexico involving the executives. The company has fought these allegations through internal investigations as well as inviting other authorities not only for Mexico but also other markets which promote Walmart’s reputation. The company faced difficulties in penetrating the Japan market due to strong government protection for the local firms. The company has adopted some local practices that have promoted growth through acquired local firms. The same is observed in the China’s market that where company has adopted labor practices and considerations for customer tastes and preferences. The company has however failed in the Germany and Korea markets due to failure of adapting practices in accordance to the nature of markets in these countries. For instance, in Germany, the company disregarded labor practices and failed to hire locals to enhance management. The company also failed to improve the quality of the products and items offered.

Walmart could not succeed in other countries by adopting its wholesome merchandising strategy. This is because the global markets present different factors that are not observed in the American market. Different countries have varied cultures, economic conditions and other factors that shape tastes and preferences of the locals. Firms that would succeed in these markets should satisfy the customer needs and therefore a flexible merchandising strategy is appropriate for use to promote success. Following this, Walmart would apply part of its marketing strategy that is valid for to a country and adopt other local practices to the company’s strategy. Failure to apply flexible marketing strategy, the company would experience

Compose a 500 words essay on Payment plan. Needs to be plagiarism free!

MFA worked by creating quotas that restricted the competition posed by imports irrespective of the benefits of price considerations (Isenheim, 2007 p6). Quotas helped remove some part of the incentives offered to foreign suppliers unlike quantitative restrictions that totally eliminate prices and costs from the transaction. In essence, the MFA set up quotas that restricted the amount of textile products that each country could export to another per year. when this threshold was reached, they had to wait for another calendar year to resume exporting to those countries under the MFA (Isenheim, 2007 p7). The MFA agreement covered specific products, not only those made from cotton, but also from wool and chemical fibre (Isenheim, 2007 p7).

The quotas were provided or created through bilateral trade agreements and their implementation through unilateral measures in the event of “severe market disruptions or proof of an existing threat thereof” (Isenheim, 2007 p7). Poor developing countries were put in an advantageous position by the MFA since it allowed their products to compete on a level ground with cheap imports from developed countries. Developing countries like Bangladesh, which had readily available cheap labour, were as able to expand its textile industry to a stage where even after the abolishment of MFA, they were hardly affected, and it saw their revenues from the textile industry increase. This was because even after the MFA was done away with, they still had the largest pool of cheap labour compared to developed countries. This applies to all developing countries because they are characterised by the same conditions present in Bangladesh.

The economic impact of MFA on developing countries was greater than its effect, in developed countries. The MFA helped developing countries attract substantial foreign investors, in the textile industry, and create millions of job opportunities, which worked

Please Review. This assignment is complete. First posted is the instructions then below it is my report. I need this Proof read to see if I made any mistakes or if I can improve on any area. This is my final class before I graduate and I need as much help with math as I can get.

Curve-fitting Project – Linear Model (due at the end of Week 5)

Instructions

For this assignment, collect data exhibiting a relatively linear trend, find the line of best fit, plot the data and the line, interpret the slope, and use the linear equation to make a prediction. Also, find r2 (coefficient of determination) and r (correlation coefficient). Discuss your findings. Your topic may be that is related to sports, health, the economy, or something you find interesting. If is strongly recommended that you take advantage of the data search tools provided. Appropriate technology must be used for plots/graphs and determination of the equation of the line and the correlation.

A complete Linear Model Example and Technology Tips are provided in separate documents. Information on some data search tools is also provided.

Tasks for Linear Regression Model (LR)

(LR-1) Describe your topic, provide your data, and cite your source. Collect at least 8 data points. An acceptable data set must exhibit a relatively linear pattern. Label appropriately. Each student must use different data.

REQUIRED: Participation in the Linear Model Project Discussion, counting toward your participation grade. In the discussion, your post must include (A) a brief title, (B) informative description of your topic, with x and y variables defined, (C) table of data and a reference for its source, and (D) a rough sketch of the scatterplot, and a of your posting, by the end of Week 4, February 4. (In the completed project, the topic, data set, source should also be included, and the scatterplot must be generated by technology.)

The idea with the discussion posting is two-fold: (1) To share your interesting project idea with your classmates, and (2) To give me a chance to give you a brief thumbs-up or thumbs-down about your proposed topic and data. Sometimes students get off on the wrong foot or misunderstand the intent of the project, or are unsure whether a particular data set is suitable, and your posting provides an opportunity for some feedback. Projects with inappropriate data sets for linear models receive poor grades.

Remark: Students may choose similar topics, but must examine different data sets. For example, several students may be interested in a particular Olympic sport, and that is fine, but they must collect different data, perhaps from different events or different gender.

(LR-2) Using technology, plot the points (x, y) to obtain a scatterplot. Use an appropriate scale on the horizontal and vertical axes and be sure to label carefully. Visually judge whether the data points exhibit a relatively linear trend. (If so, proceed. If not, try a different topic or data set.)

(LR-3) Using technology, find the line of best fit (regression line) and graph it on the scatterplot. State the equation of the line.

(LR-4) State the slope of the line of best fit. Carefully interpret the meaning of the slope in a sentence or two.

(LR-5) Find and state the value of r2, the coefficient of determination, and r, the correlation coefficient. Discuss your findings in a few sentences. Is r positive or negative? Why? Is a line a good curve to fit to this data? Why or why not? Is the linear relationship very strong, moderately strong, weak, or nonexistent?

(LR-6) Choose a value of interest and use the line of best fit to make an estimate or prediction. Show calculation work.

(LR-7) Write a brief narrative of a paragraph or two. Summarize your findings and be sure to mention any aspect of the linear model project (topic, data, scatterplot, line, r, or estimate, etc.) that you found particularly important or interesting.

You may submit all of your project in one document or a combination of documents, which may consist of word processing documents or spreadsheets, provided it is clearly labeled where each task can be found. Be sure to include your name. Projects are graded on the basis of completeness, correctness, ease in locating all of the checklist items, and strength of the narrative portions.

(LR-1)My data will be female murder rates compared to age in the year 2016. This information is gathered from UCR (Unified Crime Report) listed on the FBI site (https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2016/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-2.xls).

(LR-2)

FBI UCR 2016 Female Offender Rates

(LR-3) Y=-6.9571x+395.39

(LR-4).Y=-6.9571x+395.39 standard form is y=mx+b. The M stands for the slope in the equation. So the slope in this equation is -6.9571. This means that approximately every year murder rates decrease almost by 7.

(LR-5) R2=0.9129. R would be positive if there is a positive linear relationship and negative if there is a negative linear relationship. The closer R is to 0 the weaker the relationship is. In general a line will not be a good fit for a curved data set since the function is not that of a line.

(LR-6) y=-6.9571(25)+395.39

          Y=-173.925+395.39

          Y=221.4625

 The actual data supplied from the report is 212 which is respectively close.

(LR-7) After reading the FBI’s UCR we can conclude that in 2016 Women offender rates decreased starting highest at age 20 (301) and tapering till age 55 (42). The biggest gap was between 20 at 301 and 25 decreasing to 212. After age 25 it was a steady decrease in numbers in unison with age. The scatterplot reflects the decreasing numbers as reflected in the UCR. This did surprise me as I thought trend from
