I need help creating a thesis and an outline on Innovation 2. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. In light of all the approaches presented in this literature review pertaining to the usefulness of customer knowledge in defining the Key Performance Indicators for any organization, it can be rightly stated that in contemporary time the reliance upon closed innovation process has become adequate and thus is obsolete, because of the major requirements of this process which can not be fulfilled in the contemporary era of increased globalization. Therefore, incorporation of the open innovation process is not only essential but also necessary in order to succeed and progress. Within this process, customers play a significant role on every step of the product development process, and their immense contribution could not be ignored, since they are the end users thus the utilization of their knowledge could spell success for the firm if it is handled appropriately.

This paper makes a conclusion that with this the KPIs of the organization have to be restructured into more qualitative tools in order to account for different intricate and complex sources of knowledge base. When these are properly restructured and evaluated it leaves the organization with the dilemma of solving the issue of lost intellectual property, thus proposing that the outside-in method of open innovation should be used and external sources should be used for commercialization once the idea has been licensed, in order to ensure protection of Intellectual Property and also effectiveness in marketing.

CIS 435 – Due Week 9 and worth 90 points:

Research the web and find an appropriate incident related to either a successful or failed penetration testing effort, or a successful or unsuccessful hacking attempt against an organization, business or government facility. Lay out the details of the case and provide your analysis of what was done and why, and speculate on what should have been done, or could have been done differently. As part of your analysis, you can speculate on what you might have done to change the outcome of your particular case.  Draw specific lessons from the case and possible recommendations for future situations.

Note: I have chosen the recent hacking attack on the major credit bureau EQUIFAX as my case study!

Write a paper with no less than seven (7) pages in which you:

1- Research the web and identify a case study with an appropriate situation related to penetration testing or hacking for or against a business, organization, or government facility.

2- Lay out the case details and provide your analysis of what was done and why, the results of the effort, the specific threats and vulnerabilities, and what mitigation was attempted or should have been attempted.

3- You may speculate on what actions you might have taken in a similar situation as part of your analysis.

4- Draw specific lessons and recommendations from your analysis of the case as part of the conclusion and have a strong concluding paragraph. Be sure to revise your introduction to reflect what the paper accomplished once you finish your first draft.

5- Use no less than six (6) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Note: The above are guidelines, they are not questions to be answered like an exam. Think through your paper so you have a clear idea of your lessons and takeaway, and outline your paper as you research, and before you begin writing. Review the outline and your writing and make adjustments as needed as new ideas are laid out, and assure your introduction, body, and conclusion work as one.

Grading for this assignment will be based on answer quality, logic/organization of the paper, and language and writing skills, using the following rubric.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA format.

“Papers will be submitted through SafeAssign and Turnitin and will show up when you submit a paper that has been submitted and graded in the past. Any plagiarism attempt will be reported following the rules and regulation of the institution”

Professor’s key recommendations:

– The case study should lay out all the basics of the case then the details, after a good summary. Then lay what key elements from that case summary you will need to develop in the body.

– After developing the body with the background and details of the case, and where that discussion from the case will lead, finish your case study with a conclusion.

– The conclusion is the main purpose of the paper and will be multiple paragraphs, usually from +1 pages, and your own words based on what you present and develop in the body. If you develop a point in the paper, it should directly support a lesson and/or takeaway.  If you have a lesson it must be fully supported in the body, no new relevant material in the conclusion.

– The takeaway likewise is support by the body and lesson(s), and must be a what if speculation; a recommendations for the future; a what might have been done or should not have been done and the why; and any other takeaway one might have. Also, the paper should end with a strong concluding statement.

– The conclusion will be your personal view, but it must be based on what you present overall in the body.

“The most common problems are: Poor paragraphs and paragraph structure, misuse of pronoun you and we, and using “they/them” without the proper grammatical antecedent, using quotes to write the paper, not support it, poor introductions, and incomplete conclusions.  The conclusion is the purpose of the paper and is the lessons and takeaway from your case study.   It is never a single paragraph or worse, a block of text with multiple sentences but measured in paragraphs.

I like the use of direct quotes but use them correctly.  They are not used to write the paper, pass general information, or to replace your words.  Quotes are used to support, corroborate, add credibility or as counterpoint and ideally, if used correctly, one could be able to eliminate all quotes and the paper would still make sense.    That is the real test.    See my primer and PowerPoint above if you are using quotes, don’t assume you have been using them correctly”.

By submitting this paper, you agree: 1- that you are submitting your paper to be used and stored as part of the SafeAssign™ and Turnitin services in accordance with the Blackboard Privacy Policy; 2- that your institution may use your paper in accordance with your institution’s policies; 3- and that your use of SafeAssign and Turnitin will be without recourse against Blackboard Inc. and its affiliates.

Case 3: Everyone Does It (Business Ethics)

Conduct a strategic analysis using the Executive Summary template. Create a two page executive summary that discusses what strategic alternatives are available and provide a recommended strategy.

The following information will be required for the Executive Summary.  TEXTBOOK CASE ANALYSIS GUIDANCE(CAG) and the TEXTBOOK BUSINESS CASE ANALYSIS EXECUTIVE SUMMARY TEMPLATE These files are required for the unit textbook case studies.

Synopsis of the Case: The content of the synopsis should present relevant background facts about the case under examination.

Relevant Factual Information about the Problem or Decision the Organization Faced: State the precise problem or decision the organization faced. The section should include information that addressed the business issue under examination. This section should be no longer than a single paragraph.

Explanation of Relevant Concepts, Theories and Applications Derived from Course Materials:  This section should be the bulk of your paper. Analysis of the business problem or decision in light of the course concepts must be presented, as well as the business lesson another organization could learn from this situation. Besides citation to the text, learners must conduct research in the University library related to the top. Citing the textbook only is not enough to demonstrate you understand and can apply the course objectives. Here is where comparative and contrasting positions should be considered and examples and illustrations provided.

Recommendations: Provide logical recommendations to address the business lesson identified above. The recommendations need not to be specific to the organization examined, but should consider how other organizations, if similarly situated, could lessen the impact of the problem or decision identified. Recall, that the organization under examination has already moved pasted this problem so any recommendations made, at this point, are fruitless. The focus of this section should be on what other companies should be aware of to address similar problems or decisions. Citation to the textbook alone is insufficient for analysis in this section. Learners should conduct research in the University’s library to support their positions. Depth of scholarship is not demonstrated by providing personal opinions alone, but by using examples, analogies, comparison and illustrations from the academic literature. Not only does this synthesize the material to assist the reader’s understanding, it is an effective way to present the academic sources and extend the discussion of your ideas. This section should be a paragraph or two.

Alternative Recommendations: This section is not a continuation of the prior. Provide suggestions for how to avoid the problem or decision the examined organization faced. Analysis here should be may be forward- thinking, predictive or, most likely, preventative in nature but tied to the thesis statement. Again, opinion is insufficient to provide the required academic analysis. Sources, other than the text, must be provided to sustain the statements made. This section should be a paragraph, at most.

Conclusion: End the assignment with a summary of the important points made in the document. No new information may be presented. Writing a conclusion can be done by rewording the opening or reformulation the topic sentences of each paragraph to make a summary for the reader. This section should be a paragraph, at most.
