The service industry has become the cornerstone of the US economy. Customer service has become the defining element of many businesses. In today’s market certain industries discriminate between average consumers  and “good” consumers (average income and rich). A perfect example of this is the airline industry. First class/business class customers have their own ticket counter, contact number and personalized services. Is this consumer discrimination, or simply paying for a higher level of service? In a one to two page paper identify an industry/business that engages in this practice. Is this a logical business plan? Why or why not? What are your thoughts?

I need help filling in this case study with information I don’t even know where to begin. Hopefully there is a person who has nursing experience that can help me fill this in.

There are bacteria adapted to survive in every kind of habitat. There are marine bacteria and freshwater bacteria –and even some that thrive only in brackish waters, which are part marine and part fresh. Lately, bacteria that live in brackish waters have been causing serious wound infections, and even some deaths,in humans.

In 2006, a mortgage broker in his 30s fell into a harbor in Hawaii 6 days after a sewage pipe failure had allowed 48 million gallons of sewage to flow into the harbor water. The man was admitted to the hospital, and within days he died from massive organ failure caused by septicemia with Vibrio Vulnific

You may be familiar with Vibrio cholerae, the diarrhea agent. Its relative, V. vulnificus, tends to invade breaks in the skin and then proliferate in the bloodstream, often causing massive infections necessitating amputation, and sometimes even leading to death.

The Tea-Room Trade (Humphreys, 1975)

Humphreys took a participant-observer role as “watch queen” in order to study anonymous male homosexual activities in St. Louis’s Forest Park public restrooms. He followed the “Johns” to their cars and recorded their license numbers. Humphreys then posed as a market researcher to obtain their addresses from police registers.

About a year later, he disguised himself and gained entry to their homes by pretending to do health survey – including questions about sexual activity. Participants were never informed of their participation in a study or given the opportunity to withdraw.
