1. Before 1980 what were some of the signs of the increasing US strategic commitment in the Greater  Middle East? Specifically what were the Nixon and Carter doctrines?

2. What were the implications of the US shouldering primary responsibility for securing the planet’s principal oils storehouse? Why couldn’t the containment formula that had been at least somewhat successful during the Cold War  be effective in the Middle East.

3. Afghanistan stands out as the ostensibly big win that gave way to an even bigger mess. This is sometimes referred to as blowback – the impact of unintended consequences? What examples of blowback can you identify in America’s War in the Greater Middle East?.

4. What if anything did US efforts to combat terrorism in Lebanon and Libya indicate about the difficulty of achieving the anticipated goals?

5. Why was Desert Storm an inflection point in (America’s War for the Greater Middle East)AWGME book? Why didn’t the US destroy Saddam’s regime?

According to Thierry, et.al (2005) this factor should also be considered while generating questionnaires for children. This is done to avoid attaining of null results from interviewing children. Children also shape their thinking and psychological responses depending on their surroundings. In an argument by Thierry, et.al (2005) children exposed in environment where cheating and deceit is allowed they stand at a high probability of providing responses that have deceit. Unlike adults, children do not have the psychological strength to come up with personal made decisions. They require a path that directs their way to response. In an analysis provided by Thierry, et.al (2005) children raised in Christian families are the most truthful children. The author places the percentage results at 89 percent. This is because the environment they are in ensures that their psychology response is based on telling the truth. From these factors one may obviously argue that children may be the best witnesses and the worst witnesses depending on the complexity of the event and their psychological boundaries.

Observation of a child’s character may yield different results. This same scenario is similar to the interview on their behavior. When analyzing behavior, children observations and interviews are not the best options that could be used to determine their traits. Unlike adults children react to what they know as right regardless of the truth about it. This is greatly determined by the environment they are in. However, observation of a child behavior yields more accurate data than interviews.

Thierry, et.al (2005) argues that children are more accurate in acting what they feel than in saying what they feel. The author further argues that children do not have the psychological power to role play in real situations. However, during interviews a child’s perception could be changed by many factors that may hinder getting the required information. The information

Complete 4 page APA formatted essay: BP Company Oil Spills.

Furthermore, this oils pill led to numerous ethical issues that BP should have addressed, some of this issues are discussed below.

&nbsp. The independent scientists and other examiners were denied the opportunity to research and determine the rate at which the oil was spilling by the BP Company. The scientists would have reduced the impact of the oil spill to the community if they would have been given the chance to assess the rate of the spill. Having said this, the ethical issue is, if indeed BP Company denied the independent scientist the opportunity of to examine the extent of the damage caused by the oil spill, then how would the company get to know where the problem was and come to effective conclusions. In addition, it was quite surprising that the government was unable to process the needs of the press and newsmakers to be able to enter into the site that had caused this damage, even though BP Company could have had various reasons for this, it was not fair since it did not follow a transparent process. Therefore, the ethical issue here is that there was no disclosure of information by both the company and the US government to the citizens thus making them to “stay in the dark.”

Moreover, the legal security in the Mexican Gulf is incomplete as well as incomprehensive since it did not raise any penalty to the company for causing health and mental related damages to the wildlife living in that area (Freudenburg & Gramling 2011). Therefore, there is an ethical issue of the lack of animal and wildlife protection regulation that would punish the company. In addition, the company did not appropriately take charge of the oil spill situation since they did not give any warnings to the public. Ethically, the company was supposed to show great sorrow and regret as well as the oil spill tragedy instead of engaging itself in multiple blame games.
