This quarter you are studying 4 major fields of science Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science and Astronomy. For two (2) of those fields, you will perform an experiment and create a lab report.

At the end of each chapter you are assigned to read this quarter, there are “ACTIVITIES (HANDS-ON APPLICATION)” where you can find your “experiment.”

Don’t let this be the only place you look! Venture to YouTube or the Science channel’s show “Outrageous Acts of Science.” If you have wanted to put a Mentos in a bottle of Diet Coke – this is the time! If you want an excuse to go camping or hiking, star gazing or doing a geological study might just be the way to go. You could even make up one of your own! Include your family, your friends, your pets! Have fun!

CAUTION: Please make sure that you have the proper safety equipment when conducting any experiment. This generally includes but is not limited to, eye protection in the form of goggles or safety glasses and clothing that is not loose fitting.

For each lab report you must:

  1. Describe the purpose and hypothesis of the experiment. (What are you trying to prove or see?)
  2. List/show the materials used.
  3. Describe the procedure. (Describe the steps of the experiment and what you did so that a classmate could replicate if they wanted.)
  4. Describe and display the results. (What happened? Hint: Some of the data may be easier to show in charts or with graphics.)
  5. Answer the following explanatory and interpretative questions:
    • Why do you think you achieved the results that you did?
    • Did anything unexpected happen?
    • Do the data/results support the hypothesis? Why? (Show using specific references to the data.

Complete 4 page APA formatted essay: Applied Research.

This binomial division is based on the desired or eventual use of research findings. Whereas pure research aims at merely expanding theoretical knowledge, applied research appraises applicability of resultant knowledge in addressing real world problems. Therefore, pure research stems basically from inherent desire to expand knowledge. On the other hand, applied research strives towards solving world’s problems rather than only understanding the same problems. In succeeding sections of this paper, a detailed evaluation of applied research will be conducted, specifically in terms of steps involves in conducting an applied research process.

As explained within the introduction, applied research tends to align itself closely with practical applicability as opposed to pure expansion of knowledge. Technically, proponents of pure research are interested in establishing relationship between variables, as in understanding cause and effect traits. However, applied research tries to find solutions to specific questions and problems. Based on this distinction, it is undeniable that each type of research possesses correspondingly distinct procedural steps. According to Bickman and Debra (2013), applied research process may incorporate all or some of the procedures involved in pure research. However, steps involved in carrying out applied research are more aligned to answering perceived questions rather than unearthing random knowledge of phenomena. The basic steps of applied research are. problem definition, research design, implementation and reporting stage.

First, defining and understanding an underlying research problem is influential in developing directionality of the entire process. Proper definition of a research problem not only captures the present interest and perceived urgency of the process but also ensures absolute absence of ambiguity. In the context of applied research, problem identification involves working with relevant

Compose a 250 words essay on Answer the questions about a. Needs to be plagiarism free!

From the various reports, recruiting and retaining competent teachers is a major issue as is the quality of instruction. Majority of the parents report that their children had a teacher that is performing poorly in at least a single subject.

Dr. Sagan alludes to the “coolness” of learning in the preceding chapter, and now we hear from students and parents directly on the issue of how peer pressure and social expectations can make learning “uncool”. What do you think? Did you see a pressure not to be “a nerd” when you were going through grade school? How about now? What do you think causes this? How do we fix it?

It is true peer pressure can making learning to be uncool. Peer pressure comes along with cutting class, physical violence, and performing badly in school. Thus making learning the learning process to be so uncool. Peer pressure was not a nerd when I was going through grade school. Now it has taken over virtually all the student in institutions. This is normally caused by improper guidance from guardians, mentors, and role model of these students. Proper guidance and campaign against is the right remedy.

One of the points that Dr. Sagan makes in this Chapter is the fact that retention in our public schooling is very low. Think back to what your learned in grade school. How much do you remember? How much do you think you have forgotten? In spite of this, Dr. Sagan shares some examples of extremely effective learning models and exercises. What is the common theme? How do we inspire the desire to learn and promote learning retention?

I agree with Dr. Sagan, the current system only prepare students to pass examination and push them to the job market. The annoying part is low retention rate. From my own experience, I can sincerely state that I remember absolutely nothing in my grade school, apart from the conventional general knowledge that we encounter each and every day. Learning retention can be

The embedded collage and texts on the painting are comprised of conservation themed texts and quotes, a few pages from Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, photographs of the area, images of a power transmission tower and a Navajo matriarch off to the left of the canvas. The painting also contains a nude torso daguerreotype of Hannock’s late wife that was applied on their 10th anniversary in 8th April 2010 (Goebel 9).

Hannock is well known for his luminescent paintings that relay his personal story interlinked with stories and people of a certain place. In this painting, he aimed at reminding the world, with the Coloradans being the primary targets, about the amazing landscapes in the American West and the need for conserving them (Goebel 12). As a picture is worth a thousand words, Hannock painted it to object the decision of two power companies who wanted to build a solar power transmission line in the
